But for specific answers regarding moving a vehicle to or from Birmingham, Alabama, read on.
Our steps to booking the shipment of your automobile is simple. It can be divided into three steps.
1) PRELIMINARY STEPS TO CAR SHIPPING
What’s the process for transporting my car from Birmingham, Alabama? Great question. Our first step is to book your move so your transport team can start looking the best move for your car.
They do have to take into consideration the size, weight, height and type of truck you are needing, which primarily are open and closed options.
We will need general information about your automobile like the VIN number, year, make and model of each car you are moving. This tells us the details we need to properly assign your vehicle on a transporter.
We will give you a free transport quote that is all-inclusive of the entire expense required to move your automobile from pick up to the drop off point. Our prices are guaranteed and do not fluctuate for any reason unless changes are made to your car transport.
2) CAR PICK UP
The 2nd step in the process is pick up of the car. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your location in Birmingham, Alabama and deliver to the specific destination provided when you booked your transport.
The most common things that we run into when picking up from a home are local restrictions on getting a truck into the neighborhood. If there are no limitations regarding driving a big rig then we pick up from the address you gave us when you booked your transport.
Once your transporter arrives, you will do a inspection of the automobile with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that specifies any existing chips, damage or dents. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Birmingham, Alabama. Once it’s loaded on the carrier the driver will start the journey to the next stop.
Because a transporter moves more than on vehicle at a time, he/she may have other pick ups and drop offs to make before your car arriving at its final destination.
3) CAR DELIVERY
As the time nears for your car to arrive, your driver will call you. It is difficult for a carrier to know precisely when they will arrive before they get closer to the destination because of the many variables that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.
Normally, you should hear from your driver typically within the last 24 hours before your car is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our clients as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will arrive until just a few hours before they get to their destination.
When the vehicle transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was done when the auto was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing damage marked during the pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.
So moving your auto to or from Birmingham, Alabama can be a fairly easy process. We always strive to do all we can to make the entire experience pleasant for every customer.

We found a great company
I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.
Don't make the same mistake that i did...
I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
I booked, they picked up and delivered. Everything went smooth and i have noting but good things to say about this company.
Very happy with the service!

Pickup – everything went smooth and driver did a great job!
Delivery – driver called the day before and gave me a time and he showed up as he said he would.

Birmingham (/ˈbɜːrmɪŋhæm/ BUR-ming-ham) is a city in the north central region of the U.S. state of Alabama. With an estimated 2017 population of 210,710, it is the most populous city in Alabama. Birmingham is the seat of Jefferson County, Alabama's most populous and fifth largest county. As of 2017, the Birmingham-Hoover Metropolitan Statistical Area had a population of 1,149,807, making it the most populous in Alabama and 49th-most populous in the United States. Birmingham serves as an important regional hub and is associated with the Deep South, Piedmont, and Appalachian regions of the nation.
Birmingham was founded in 1871, during the post-Civil War Reconstruction era, through the merger of three farm towns, most notably Elyton. The new city was named for Birmingham, England, the UK's second largest city and, at the time, a major industrial city. The Alabama city annexed smaller neighbors and developed as an industrial center, based on mining, the new iron and steel industry, and rail transport. Most of the original settlers who founded Birmingham were of English ancestry. The city was developed as a place where cheap, non-unionized immigrant labor (primarily Irish and Italian), along with African-American labor from rural Alabama, could work in the city's steel mills and blast furnaces, giving it a competitive advantage over unionized industrial cities in the Midwest and Northeast.:14
