But for specific answers regarding transporting a car to or from Boston, Massachusetts, read on.

Our process to booking the shipment of your automobile is simple. It can be divided into three parts.

1) PRELIMINARY STEPS TO AUTOMOBILE SHIPPING

What’s the process for transporting my car from Boston, Massachusetts? Great question. The first thing is to book your transport so your move team can start looking the most ideal transport for your automobile.

They do have to consider the size, weight, height and type of transporter you are scheduling, which typically are open and closed carriers.

We will need basic information about your shipment like the VIN number, year, make and model of each car you are moving. This tells us the details we need to properly assign your vehicle on a carrier.

We will provide you a free transport quote that is all-inclusive of the entire expense required to ship your automobile from origin to the drop off point. Our prices are guaranteed and do not increase for any reason unless there are changes made to your auto transport.

2) AUTO PICK UP

The second step in the process is pick up of your vehicle. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your doorstep in Boston, Massachusetts and deliver to the final destination provided when you booked your move.

The most common things that we deal with when picking up from a home are local regulations on driving a big rig into the area. If there are no limitations regarding driving a big rig then we pick up from the location you gave us when you scheduled your transport.

Once your driver arrives, you will do a walk around of the automobile with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that identifies any existing chips, damage or dings. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Boston, Massachusetts. Once it’s loaded in the truck the driver will start the journey to the next stop.

Because a transporter delivers more than on auto at a time, he/she may have multiple pick ups and drop offs to make before your car reaching its final destination.

3) VEHICLE DELIVERY

As the time gets closer for your auto to arrive, your carrier will call you. It is difficult for a transporter to know exactly when they will arrive before they get closer to the drop off point because of the many variables that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should be contacted by your transporter typically within the last 24 hours before your auto is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our customers as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will arrive until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the car carrier arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was completed when the vehicle was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare pre-existing damage identified during your pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So shipping your vehicle to or from Boston, Massachusetts can be a reasonably easy process. We always strive to make sure to make the entire experience pleasant for every client.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!

Boston is the capital and most populous city[8] of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the United States. The city proper covers 48 square miles (124 km2) with an estimated population of 685,094 in 2017,[3] making it also the most populous city in New England.[2] Boston is the seat of Suffolk County as well, although the county government was disbanded on July 1, 1999.[9] The city is the economic and cultural anchor of a substantially larger metropolitan area known as Greater Boston, a metropolitan statistical area (MSA) home to a census-estimated 4.8 million people in 2016 and ranking as the tenth-largest such area in the country.[10] As a combined statistical area (CSA), this wider commuting region is home to some 8.2 million people, making it the sixth-largest in the United States.[11]

Boston is one of the oldest cities in the United States, founded on the Shawmut Peninsula in 1630 by Puritan settlers from England.[12][13] It was the scene of several key events of the American Revolution, such as the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, the Battle of Bunker Hill, and the Siege of Boston. Upon gaining U.S. independence from Great Britain, it continued to be an important port and manufacturing hub as well as a center for education and culture.[14][15] The city has expanded beyond the original peninsula through land reclamation and municipal annexation. Its rich history attracts many tourists, with Faneuil Hall alone drawing more than 20 million visitors per year.[16] Boston's many firsts include the United States' first public park (Boston Common, 1634), first public or state school (Boston Latin School, 1635)[17] and first subway system (Tremont Street Subway, 1897).[18]
