Most of the concerns regarding shipping your automobile are clarified in our car shipping blog. It is our goal to help you with every question you have about relocating your vehicle no matter where it’s headed.
But for specific answers regarding transporting a automobile to or from Charlotte, North Carolina, read on.
Our steps to booking the shipment of your automobile is simple. It can be divided into 3 parts.
1) PRELIMINARY STEPS TO AUTOMOBILE SHIPPING
What’s the process for moving my car from Charlotte, North Carolina? Great question. Our first step is to schedule your move so your move team can start looking the best move for your vehicle.
They do have to consider the size, weight, height and type of carrier you are requesting, which typically are open and closed options.
We will need basic information about your car like the VIN number, year, make and model of each vehicle you are shipping. This tells us the details we need to properly place your vehicle on a transporter.
We will give you a free shipping quote that is all-inclusive of all the costs required to move your automobile from origin to the drop off point. Our quotes are guaranteed and do not increase for any reason unless changes are made to your auto transport.
2) AUTO PICK UP
The second step in the process is the pick up of the auto. In almost all cases, we do pick up at your location in Charlotte, North Carolina and deliver to the designated destination we were given when you booked your shipping.
The only things that we run into when picking up from a specific location are local limitations on driving a big rig into the area. If there are no regulations regarding driving a transporter then we pick up from the address you gave us when you scheduled your transport.
Once your transporter arrives, you will do a walk around of the automobile with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that specifies any existing chips, damage or dings. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Charlotte, North Carolina. Once it’s loaded in the carrier the driver will start their journey to the next stop.
Because a driver delivers more than on car at a time, he/she may have other pick ups and drop offs to make prior to your car reaching its final destination.
3) VEHICLE DELIVERY
As the time nears for your auto to arrive, your transporter will contact you. It is difficult for a driver to know precisely when they will arrive before they get closer to the drop off point because of the many influences that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.
Normally, you should be contacted by your carrier typically within the last 24 hours before your auto is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our clients as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will arrive until just a few hours before they get to their destination.
When the car carrier arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was completed when the auto was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing dents and dings identified during the pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.
So transporting your car to or from Charlotte, North Carolina can be a reasonably easy process. We always strive to ensure to make the entire experience pleasant for every client.

Contacted Joe needed to transport my SUV from MD to ATL. Joe took my info and said he would call as soon as he dispatch a driver in several hours he contacted me said he can have my car pickup up that next day Friday and delivered on Saturday. The Driver call right away before the pickup and after. He was very quick and professional.
We found a great company
I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.
Don't make the same mistake that i did...
I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
I booked, they picked up and delivered. Everything went smooth and i have noting but good things to say about this company.
Very happy with the service!
Great experience from the first call to the delivery of my vehicle. I read a lot of reviews before i chose United. I went with them because nobody had anything bad to say about this company.
Customer service – awesome
Price – average
Pickup – everything went smooth and driver did a great job!
Delivery – driver called the day before and gave me a time and he showed up as he said he would.
Totally recommend this company!
