But for specific answers regarding shipping a car to or from Chesapeake, Virginia, read on.

Our steps to booking the delivery of your automobile is very simple. It can be divided into three parts.

What’s the process for shipping my car from Chesapeake, Virginia? Great question. The first thing is to book your move so your move team can start searching the best move for your automobile.

They do have to take into consideration the size, weight, height and type of transporter you are scheduling, which most customarily are open and closed options.

We will need basic details about your vehicle like the VIN number, year, make and model of each vehicle you are transporting. This tells us the details we need to properly move your vehicle on a truck.

We will provide you a free transport quote that includes everything required to move your car from pick up to the drop off point. Our quotes are guaranteed and do not increase for any reason unless changes are made to your shipment.

The second step in the process is the pick up of the vehicle. In almost all cases, we do pick up at your location in Chesapeake, Virginia and deliver to the specific destination we were given when you booked your transport.

The only factors that we run into when picking up from a residential address are local laws on getting a big rig into the neighborhood. If there are no limitations regarding driving a transporter then we pick up from the destination you gave us when you scheduled your transport.

Once your transporter arrives, you will do a walk around of the car with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that identifies any existing chips, damage or dings. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Chesapeake, Virginia. Once it’s loaded in the truck the driver will start the journey to the next destination.

Because a driver delivers more than on car at a time, he/she may have multiple pick ups and drop offs to make prior to your car reaching its final destination.

As the time nears for your car to arrive, your transporter will call you. It is difficult for a driver to know precisely when they will arrive before they get closer to the destination because of the many influences that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long drivers can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should hear from your transporter typically within the last 24 hours before your vehicle is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our clients as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will get there until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the auto transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was done when the auto was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing dents and dings identified during the pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure everything is great and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So moving your auto to or from Chesapeake, Virginia can be a fairly effortless process. We always strive to do all we can to make the entire process pleasant for every customer.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!

Chesapeake is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 222,209;[5] in 2013, the population was estimated to be 232,977,[6] making it the third-most populous city in Virginia.

Chesapeake is included in the Virginia Beach–Norfolk–Newport News, VA–NC MSA. One of the cities in the South Hampton Roads, Chesapeake was organized in 1963 by voter referendums approving the political consolidation of the city of South Norfolk with the remnants of the former Norfolk County, which dated to 1691. (Much of the territory of the county had been annexed by other cities.) Chesapeake is the second-largest city by land area in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the 17th-largest in the United States.
