But for specific answers regarding moving a car to or from Chicago, Illinois, read on.

Our procedure to booking the delivery of your car is very simple. It can be divided into 3 parts.

What’s the process for transporting my car from Chicago, Illinois? Great question. The first step is to book your move so your transport team can start looking the most ideal transport for your car.

They do have to take into consideration the size, weight, height and type of truck you are needing, which primarily are open and closed options.

We will need general details about your automobile like the VIN number, year, make and model of each vehicle you are shipping. This tells us the details we need to properly place your vehicle on a truck.

We will give you a free transport quote that includes the entire expense required to ship your car from origin to your destination. Our prices are guaranteed and will not change for any reason unless there are changes made to your shipment.

The second step in the process is pick up of your vehicle. In almost all cases, we do pick up at your doorstep in Chicago, Illinois and deliver to the specific destination we were given when you booked your shipping.

The most common factors that come up when picking up from a neighborhood are local laws on getting a transporter into the neighborhood. If there are no limitations regarding driving a transporter then we pick up from the location you provided when you booked your transport.

Once your driver arrives, you will do a inspection of the automobile with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that identifies any existing chips, damage or dings. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Chicago, Illinois. Once it’s loaded in the carrier the driver will start the journey to the next destination.

Because a carrier delivers more than on auto at a time, he/she may have more pick ups and drop offs to make before your car reaching its final destination.

As the time gets closer for your car to arrive, your carrier will call you. It is difficult for a carrier to know precisely when they will arrive before they get closer to the destination because of the many variables that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should be contacted by your carrier typically within the last 24 hours before your car is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our clients as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will arrive until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the car carrier arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was completed when the car was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing damage marked during the pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So moving your vehicle to or from Chicago, Illinois can be a reasonably easy process. We always strive to do all we can to make the entire experience pleasant for every customer.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!

Chicago (/ʃɪˈkɑːɡoʊ/ (listen), locally also /-ˈkɔː-/), officially the City of Chicago, is the most populous city in Illinois, as well as the third most populous city in the United States. With an estimated population of 2,716,450 (2017), it is the most populous city in the Midwest. Chicago is the principal city of the Chicago metropolitan area, often referred to as Chicagoland, and the county seat of Cook County, the second most populous county in the United States. The metropolitan area, at nearly 10 million people, is the third-largest in the United States, and the fourth largest in North America (after Mexico City, New York City and Los Angeles).

Located on the shores of freshwater Lake Michigan, Chicago was incorporated as a city in 1837 near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watershed and grew rapidly in the mid-19th century.[7] After the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, which destroyed several square miles and left more than 100,000 homeless, the city made a concerted effort to rebuild.[8] The construction boom accelerated population growth throughout the following decades, and by 1900 Chicago was the fifth largest city in the world.[9] Chicago made noted contributions to urban planning and zoning standards, including new construction styles (including the Chicago School of architecture), the development of the City Beautiful Movement, and the steel-framed skyscraper.[10][11]
