But for specific answers regarding moving a car to or from Columbus, Ohio, read on.

Our steps to scheduling the transport of your car is very simple. It can be broken down into three parts.

What’s the process for shipping my car from Columbus, Ohio? Great question. The first step is to schedule your move so your move team can start looking the best move for your automobile.

They do have to take into account the size, weight, height and type of carrier you are scheduling, which primarily are open and closed carriers.

We will need basic information about your vehicle like the VIN number, year, make and model of each vehicle you are shipping. This provides the details we need to properly assign your vehicle on a truck.

We will provide you a free shipping quote that is all-inclusive of all the costs required to transport your automobile from origin to your destination. Our prices are guaranteed and will not change for any reason unless you make changes to your car transport.

The 2nd step in the process is the pick up of your auto. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your location in Columbus, Ohio and deliver to the specific destination provided when you booked your transport.

The most common issues that we deal with when picking up from a particular place are local laws on driving a transporter into the neighborhood. If there are no problems regarding driving a big rig then we pick up from the address you gave us when you booked your transport.

Once your driver arrives, you will do a walk around of the automobile with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that identifies any existing chips, damage or dings. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Columbus, Ohio. Once it’s loaded in the carrier the driver will start the journey to the next destination.

Because a carrier delivers more than on auto at a time, he/she may have multiple pick ups and drop offs to make before your car arriving at its final destination.

As the time gets closer for your car to arrive, your carrier will call you. It is difficult for a driver to know exactly when they will arrive before they get closer to the drop off point because of the many variables that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should hear from your transporter typically within the last 24 hours before your auto is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our customers as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will get there until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the auto carrier arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was done when the car was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing damage identified during your pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure everything is great and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So moving your auto to or from Columbus, Ohio can be a fairly effortless process. We always strive to ensure to make the entire process pleasant for every customer.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
