District of Columbia Auto Transport Services

United’s network of professional drivers provide both open and enclosed car shipping services to and from the state of District of Columbia.

The most popular questions people have when researching the best auto transport company in District of Columbia are largely about about price and how the car is moved. We are going to answer those questions now.

How Much Does It Cost to Ship My Car To or From District of Columbia?

The typical price to move a vehicle within the United States will be dependent on the kind of trailer you favor enclosed or open, the distance it will travel, and your pick up and delivery preferences. It costs around $2.50 per mile to ship a car less than 200 miles, however costs around 75 cents a mile to move a standard vehicle 1,000 miles or more.

Some of the factors we consider include:

• the distance the vehicle must travel
• the best time to transport your vehicle
• national cost for fuel
• current demand for carriers

Your Quote

The quote you get from us will always include all costs required to move your car. Some car trucking companies will quote a low-ball price just to get your signature on a contract only to increase the price later, or worse, when it’s being picked up.

Our quotes are final and only change if you make alterations that increase the cost. Internet quote forms can only estimate your real transport costs so it’s always best to speak directly to the car shipping company yourself.

Open and Enclosed Carrier Transport

There are multiple types of transport carriers that move our client’s vehicles to and from District of Columbia. We offer both open and enclosed transporters to serve the varied needs of our patrons. Below you’ll find a detailed list of the benefits of each.

Open Carrier

Open vehicle transport simply means moving your auto on a truck that does not provide any enclosure to protect it from everyday environmental elements. This is the way most cars are delivered to car dealerships. It is also the most common means of transport on the road and a safe way to transport your auto.

There are more open carriers on the road than any other type of carrier so that makes open transport the least expensive manner to move your car. Plus we have more open transporters traveling through District of Columbia at any given time so pickup times are often more flexible.

Enclosed Car Transporters

Shipping your vehicle in an enclosed carrier gives you the ultimate confidence. As the name suggests, enclosed car transporters provide the highest degree of protection from weather, elements, rocks or any other possible threat.

As a bonus, enclosed auto transporters often have more experience with specialty vehicles. The most common autos moved in an enclosed carrier are collectible, classic or antique motorcycles and cars. They also transport:

• vehicles from car auctions
• vintage race cars
• car show transport
• exotic auto show transport
• antique and classic vehicles (like I mentioned above)

The expense of shipping a vehicle on an enclosed truck is more because there are less enclosed trucks available and they can not move as many cars on their truck as an open transport can.

Motorcycle Shipping From or To District of Columbia

Motorcycle Shipping by UnitedWe do also provide motorcycle and bike shipping across the county and internationally. We also ship dirt bikes and ATVs door-to-door to almost any location worldwide. Normally motorcycles are transported in an enclosed carrier.

This ensures you are only charged the total you agreed to and no slick tricks because we stick to the quote we give you to move your car.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!

USA Highways used to ship cars

Washington, D.C., formally the District of Columbia and commonly referred to as Washington or D.C., is the capital of the United States.[4] Founded after the American Revolution as the seat of government of the newly independent country, Washington was named after George Washington, first President of the United States and Founding Father.[5] As the seat of the United States federal government and several international organizations, Washington is an important world political capital.[6] The city is also one of the most visited cities in the world, with more than 20 million tourists annually.[7][8]

The signing of the Residence Act on July 16, 1790, approved the creation of a capital district located along the Potomac River on the country’s East Coast. The U.S. Constitution provided for a federal district under the exclusive jurisdiction of the U.S. Congress, and the District is therefore not a part of any state. The states of Maryland and Virginia each donated land to form the federal district, which included the pre-existing settlements of Georgetown and Alexandria. The City of Washington was founded in 1791 to serve as the new national capital. In 1846, Congress returned the land originally ceded by Virginia; in 1871, it created a single municipal government for the remaining portion of the District.
