Most of the questions regarding moving your automobile are identified in our car shipping blog. It is our goal to clearly answer every question you may have about shipping your automobile no matter where it’s headed.

But for specific answers regarding transporting a car to or from Hilo, Hawaii, read on.

Our process to scheduling the shipment of your automobile is very simple. It can be summed up into three steps.

What’s the process for shipping my car from Hilo, Hawaii? Great question. The first step is to schedule your move so your transport team can start looking the most ideal transport for your car.

They do have to consider the size, weight, height and type of carrier you are needing, which most customarily are open and closed options.

We will need general information about your car like the VIN number, year, make and model of each vehicle you are transporting. This tells us the details we need to properly move your vehicle on a transporter.

We will provide you a free transport quote that is all-inclusive of the entire expense required to transport your vehicle from pick up to your destination. Our quotes are guaranteed and will not increase for any reason unless you make changes to your shipment.

The 2nd step in the process is pick up of your auto. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your home in Hilo, Hawaii and deliver to the final destination we were given when you booked your transport.

The only things that come up when picking up from a specific location are local regulations on driving a transporter into the neighborhood. If there are no regulations regarding driving a truck then we pick up from the location you gave us when you scheduled your transport.

Once your driver arrives, you will do a inspection of the car with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that identifies any existing chips, damage or dents. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Hilo, Hawaii. Once it’s loaded on the truck the driver will start their journey to the next stop.

Because a driver moves more than on car at a time, he/she may have multiple pick ups and deliveries to make before your car arriving at its final destination.

As the time gets closer for your auto to arrive, your transporter will call you. It is difficult for a transporter to know exactly when they will arrive before they get closer to the destination because of the many variables that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long drivers can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should be contacted by your carrier typically within the last 24 hours before your car is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our clients as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will arrive until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the car transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was done when the car was picked up. The transporter will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing damage marked during the pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So moving your car to or from Hilo, Hawaii can be a reasonably easy process. We always strive to ensure to make the entire process pleasant for every customer.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!

Hilo (/ˈhiːloʊ/; Hawaiian pronunciation: [ˈhilo]) is the largest town and census-designated place (CDP) in Hawaii County, Hawaii, United States, which encompasses the Island of Hawaiʻi. It is the second most populous city in the state of Hawaii, after Honolulu. The population was 43,263 at the 2010 census.[1]

Hilo is the county seat of the County of Hawaiʻi and is in the District of South Hilo.[2] The town overlooks Hilo Bay, at the base of two shield volcanoes, Mauna Loa, an active volcano, and Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano and the site of some of the world's most important ground-based astronomical observatories. Much of the city is at some risk from lava flows from Mauna Loa. The majority of human settlement in Hilo stretches from Hilo Bay to Waiākea-Uka, on the flanks of Mauna Loa.
