Most of the concerns regarding shipping your vehicle are clarified in our car shipping blog. It is our pursuit to help you with every question you have about moving your vehicle no matter where it’s destination may be.

But for specific answers regarding shipping a vehicle to or from Houston, Texas, read on.

Our procedure to booking the delivery of your vehicle is simple. It can be broken down into 3 steps.

What’s the process for transporting my car from Houston, Texas? Great question. The first thing is to book your move so your move team can start searching the best move for your car.

They do have to take into consideration the size, weight, height and type of carrier you are requesting, which primarily are open and closed carriers.

We will need basic information about your shipment like the VIN number, year, make and model of each vehicle you are shipping. This provides the details we need to properly place your vehicle on a truck.

We will provide you a free transport quote that includes the entire expense required to transport your vehicle from pick up to the drop off point. Our prices are guaranteed and will not increase for any reason unless changes are made to your car transport.

The second step in the process is pick up of your car. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your home in Houston, Texas and deliver to the designated destination you gave us when you booked your transport.

The only things that come up when picking up from a home are local regulations on getting a truck into the area. If there are no regulations regarding driving a big rig then we pick up from the destination you gave us when you booked your transport.

Once your transporter arrives, you will do a walk around of the automobile with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that designates any existing chips, damage or dings. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Houston, Texas. Once it’s loaded in the truck the driver will start the journey to the next stop.

Because a transporter delivers more than on vehicle at a time, he/she may have multiple pick ups and drop offs to make before your car arriving at its final destination.

As the time gets closer for your auto to arrive, your transporter will call you. It is difficult for a transporter to know exactly when they will arrive before they get closer to the drop off point because of the many variables that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long drivers can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should be contacted by your transporter typically within the last 24 hours before your vehicle is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our clients as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will get there until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the vehicle transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was done when the auto was picked up. The transporter will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing damage identified during the pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So shipping your vehicle to or from Houston, Texas can be a fairly effortless process. We always strive to ensure to make the entire process pleasant for every customer.

Why should I ship my car to Houston, Texas?

Relocating your auto may not be the best way to transport your vehicle to another city. It puts many miles on your vehicle. Depending on the distance you will move it, there can be a lot of wear and tear — and just imagine if it something breaks down while you’re on your way.

Unplanned breakdowns can cost far more what it would have cost you to have an experienced carrier move it for you. Not to mention, the time it adds to your trip.

That’s why we offer convenient door-to-door delivery for all our customers.

Whether you’re shipping your car to or from Houston, Texas, let us help you get it transported safely. We are your dependable car shipping team and we’re ready to move when you are.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
