But for specific answers regarding transporting a car to or from Indianapolis, Indiana, read on.
Our procedure to scheduling the transport of your vehicle is streamlined. It can be summed up into 3 parts.
1) PRELIMINARY STEPS TO CAR SHIPPING
What’s the process for transporting my car from Indianapolis, Indiana? Great question. The first step is to schedule your transport so your move team can start planning the most ideal transport for your vehicle.
They do have to take into consideration the size, weight, height and type of truck you are scheduling, which most customarily are open and closed options.
We will need general details about your vehicle like the VIN number, year, make and model of each car you are shipping. This provides the details we need to properly move your vehicle on a carrier.
We will provide you a free shipping quote that is all-inclusive of all the costs required to move your vehicle from origin to your destination. Our quotes are guaranteed and will not change for any reason unless there are changes made to your shipment.
2) AUTO PICK UP
The 2nd step in the process is pick up of the vehicle. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your doorstep in Indianapolis, Indiana and deliver to the designated destination you gave us when you booked your move.
The only factors that we run into when picking up from a home are local restrictions on driving a big rig into the area. If there are no problems regarding driving a big rig then we pick up from the destination you gave us when you booked your transport.
Once your driver arrives, you will do a walk around of the car with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that designates any existing chips, damage or dents. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Indianapolis, Indiana. Once it’s loaded in the transporter the driver will start the journey to the next destination.
Because a transporter moves more than on vehicle at a time, he/she may have other pick ups and deliveries to make before your car reaching its final destination.
3) CAR DELIVERY
As the time gets closer for your auto to arrive, your transporter will contact you. It is difficult for a driver to know precisely when they will arrive before they get closer to the drop off point because of the many elements that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long drivers can actually be on the road.
Normally, you should hear from your carrier typically within the last 24 hours before your vehicle is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our customers as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will arrive until just a few hours before they get to their destination.
When the vehicle transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was completed when the car was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing damage identified during your pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.
So transporting your auto to or from Indianapolis, Indiana can be a fairly effortless process. We always strive to make sure to make the entire experience pleasant for every customer.

We found a great company
I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.
Don't make the same mistake that i did...
I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
I booked, they picked up and delivered. Everything went smooth and i have noting but good things to say about this company.
Very happy with the service!

Pickup – everything went smooth and driver did a great job!
Delivery – driver called the day before and gave me a time and he showed up as he said he would.
Totally recommend this company!
Indianapolis (/ˌɪndiəˈnæpəlɪs/), often shortened to Indy, is the state capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Indiana and the seat of Marion County. According to 2017 estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau, the consolidated population of Indianapolis and Marion County was 872,680. The "balance" population, which excludes semi-autonomous municipalities in Marion County, was 863,002. It is the 16th most populous city in the U.S. The Indianapolis metropolitan area is the 34th most populous metropolitan statistical area in the U.S., with 2,028,614 residents. Its combined statistical area ranks 27th, with a population of 2,411,086. Indianapolis covers 368 square miles (950 km2), making it the 16th largest city by land area in the U.S.
Indigenous peoples inhabited the area dating to approximately 2000 BC. In 1818, the Delaware relinquished their tribal lands in the Treaty of St. Mary's. In 1821, Indianapolis was founded as a planned city for the new seat of Indiana's state government. The city was platted by Alexander Ralston and Elias Pym Fordham on a 1 square mile (2.6 km2) grid next to the White River. Completion of the National and Michigan roads and arrival of rail later solidified the city's position as a manufacturing and transportation hub. Two of the city's nicknames reflect its historical ties to transportation—the "Crossroads of America" and "Railroad City". Since the 1970 city-county consolidation, known as Unigov, local government administration operates under the direction of an elected 25-member city-county council headed by the mayor.
