But for specific answers regarding shipping a automobile to or from Jacksonville, Florida, read on.
Our procedure to booking the shipment of your automobile is streamlined. It can be summed up into 3 parts.
1) PRELIMINARY STEPS TO AUTOMOBILE SHIPPING
What’s the process for transporting my car from Jacksonville, Florida? Great question. The first step is to book your transport so your transport team can start planning the most ideal transport for your vehicle.
They do have to take into account the size, weight, height and type of carrier you are needing, which typically are open and closed carriers.
We will need basic details about your vehicle like the VIN number, year, make and model of each vehicle you are moving. This tells us the information we need to properly place your vehicle on a carrier.
We will provide you a free shipping quote that includes all the costs required to transport your car from origin to your destination. Our quotes are guaranteed and do not increase for any reason unless there are changes made to your shipment.
2) VEHICLE PICK UP
The 2nd step in the process is pick up of the car. In almost all cases, we do pick up at your home in Jacksonville, Florida and deliver to the final destination you gave us when you booked your move.
The only things that come up when picking up from a particular place are local regulations on driving a big rig into the neighborhood. If there are no limitations regarding driving a big rig then we pick up from the location you provided when you scheduled your transport.
Once your transporter arrives, you will do a walk around of the automobile with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that identifies any existing chips, damage or dings. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Jacksonville, Florida. Once it’s loaded in the carrier the driver will start their journey to the next stop.
Because a transporter delivers more than on car at a time, he/she may have multiple pick ups and drop offs to make before your car reaching its final destination.
3) CAR DELIVERY
As the time gets closer for your car to arrive, your transporter will call you. It is difficult for a transporter to know precisely when they will arrive before they get closer to the destination because of the many variables that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.
Normally, you should be contacted by your carrier typically within the last 24 hours before your vehicle is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our clients as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will arrive until just a few hours before they get to their destination.
When the auto transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was done when the car was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing dents and dings identified during your pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.
So moving your auto to or from Jacksonville, Florida can be a fairly easy process. We always strive to do all we can to make the entire experience pleasant for every customer.

We found a great company
I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.
Don't make the same mistake that i did...
I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
I booked, they picked up and delivered. Everything went smooth and i have noting but good things to say about this company.

Delivery – driver called the day before and gave me a time and he showed up as he said he would.

Jacksonville is the most populous city in Florida, the most populous city in the southeastern United States and the largest city by area in the contiguous United States. It is the seat of Duval County, with which the city government consolidated in 1968. Consolidation gave Jacksonville its great size and placed most of its metropolitan population within the city limits. As of 2017 Jacksonville's population was estimated to be 892,062. The Jacksonville metropolitan area has a population of 1,523,615 and is the fourth largest in Florida.
Jacksonville is centered on the banks of the St. Johns River in the First Coast region of northeast Florida, about 25 miles (40 km) south of the Georgia state line and 328 miles (528 km) north of Miami. The Jacksonville Beaches communities are along the adjacent Atlantic coast. The area was originally inhabited by the Timucua people, and in 1564 was the site of the French colony of Fort Caroline, one of the earliest European settlements in what is now the continental United States. Under British rule, settlement grew at the narrow point in the river where cattle crossed, known as Wacca Pilatka to the Seminole and the Cow Ford to the British. A platted town was established there in 1822, a year after the United States gained Florida from Spain; it was named after Andrew Jackson, the first military governor of the Florida Territory and seventh President of the United States.
