Maine Car Shipping Services

United’s network of professional drivers deliver both open and enclosed car shipping services to and from the state of Maine.

The most popular questions people have when researching the best car shipping company in Maine most commonly about the cost and how it’s done. I’m going to answer those questions in this article.

How Much Does It Cost to Ship My Car To or From Maine?

The typical price to move a car within the United States will depend on the type of trailer you favor open or enclosed, the distance it will travel, and your pick up and delivery preferences. It costs approximately $2.50 per mile to ship a car less than 200 miles, but costs around 75 cents a mile to ship a standard vehicle 1,000 miles or more.

Some of the factors we consider include:

• the distance the vehicle must travel
• the best time to pickup and deliver your auto
• current cost for diesel
• current demand for carriers

Your Quote

When we give you a quote, it will always include all expenses required to deliver your vehicle. Some vehicle carrier companies will tell you a low price just to get your signature on an agreement only to raise the price later, or worse, when it’s being picked up.

Our bids are all-inclusive and only change if you make alterations that increase the cost. Online quote forms can only guesstimate your actual transport costs so it’s always best to call the car shipping company yourself.

Open and Enclosed Transport

There are several types of transport carriers that move our client’s vehicles to and from Maine. We offer both open and enclosed transporters to serve the varied needs of our customers. Below you’ll find a detailed list of the benefits of each.

Open Transports

Open carrier transport simply means moving your auto on a truck that doesn’t provide any enclosure to shield it from everyday environmental elements. This is the way most vehicles are delivered to car dealerships. It is also the most common method of transport on the road and a practical way to ship your car.

There are more open carriers on the road than any other type of transporter so that makes them the cheapest way to move your car. This also means we have more open transporters traveling through Maine at any particular time so pickup times are often more flexible.

Enclosed Auto Transporters

Shipping your auto in an enclosed carrier gives you the ultimate confidence. As the name suggests, enclosed car carriers provide the greatest level of protection from weather, elements, rocks or any other threat.

As a bonus, enclosed auto transporters typically have more experience with expensive vehicles. The most common autos shipped in an enclosed carrier are collectible, classic or antique motorcycles and cars. They also transport:

• vehicles from auto auctions
• vintage race cars
• auto show transport
• exotic vehicle show transport
• antique and classic vehicles (like I mentioned above)

The cost of shipping a car on an enclosed truck is greater because there are fewer enclosed trucks available and they can not move as many autos on their carrier as an open transport can.

Motorcycle Shipping To or From Maine

Motorcycle Shipping by UnitedWe do also offer motorcycle and bike shipping across the county and internationally. We also ship dirt bikes and ATVs door-to-door to almost any location worldwide. Typically motorcycles are moved in an enclosed truck.

So request a quote now! Our transport team is ready to answer any questions you have and help you move your car to or from Maine.

No Deposit Required

Some companies will require a down payment prior to your car being picked up. We do not. We work diligently to arrange your move and don’t request payment until your transporter is on their way. This ensures you are only charged the amount you agreed upon and no slick tricks because we stick to the quote we provide to move your car.

No matter what you require to move your automobile to/from Maine, UNITED’s auto transport team will provide you with great customer service, and safe, reliable car shipping services no matter where we deliver for you.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!

Maine (/meɪn/ (listen)) is a state in the New England region of the northeastern United States. Maine is the 12th smallest by area, the 9th least populous, and the 38th most densely populated of the 50 U.S. states. It is bordered by New Hampshire to the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the southeast, and the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Quebec to the northeast and northwest respectively. Maine is the easternmost state in the contiguous United States, and the northernmost state east of the Great Lakes. It is known for its jagged, rocky coastline; low, rolling mountains; heavily forested interior; and picturesque waterways, as well as its seafood cuisine, especially lobster and clams. There is a humid continental climate throughout most of the state, including in coastal areas such as its most populous city of Portland.[14] The capital is Augusta.

For thousands of years, indigenous peoples were the only inhabitants of the territory that is now Maine. At the time of European arrival in what is now Maine, several Algonquian-speaking peoples inhabited the area. The first European settlement in the area was by the French in 1604 on Saint Croix Island, by Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Mons. The first English settlement was the short-lived Popham Colony, established by the Plymouth Company in 1607. A number of English settlements were established along the coast of Maine in the 1620s, although the rugged climate, deprivations, and conflict with the local peoples caused many to fail over the years.
