Most of the questions regarding shipping your vehicle are identified in our car shipping blog. It is our goal to clearly answer every question you have about transporting your vehicle no matter where it’s destination may be.

But for specific answers regarding moving a vehicle to or from Minneapolis, Minnesota, read on.

Our process to booking the shipment of your automobile is very simple. It can be divided into 3 steps.

What’s the process for transporting my vehicle from Minneapolis, Minnesota? Great question. The first step is to schedule your transport so your move team can start searching the best move for your automobile.

They do have to take into account the size, weight, height and type of transporter you are needing, which typically are open and closed carriers.

We will need general details about your vehicle like the VIN number, year, make and model of each car you are transporting. This provides the details we need to properly place your vehicle on a carrier.

We will provide you a free shipping quote that is all-inclusive of the entire expense required to ship your automobile from origin to the drop off point. Our quotes are guaranteed and will not change for any reason unless there are changes made to your shipment.

The 2nd step in the process is pick up of your auto. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your location in Minneapolis, Minnesota and deliver to the specific destination provided when you booked your move.

The most common issues that we deal with when picking up from a neighborhood are local restrictions on getting a truck into the area. If there are no regulations regarding driving a truck then we pick up from the location you provided when you scheduled your transport.

Once your driver arrives, you will do a walk around of the vehicle with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that identifies any existing chips, damage or dents. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Once it’s loaded in the transporter the driver will start their journey to the next stop.

Because a transporter delivers more than on car at a time, he/she may have multiple pick ups and drop offs to make before your car reaching its final destination.

As the time gets closer for your auto to arrive, your transporter will contact you. It is difficult for a driver to know precisely when they will arrive before they get closer to the destination because of the many influences that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long drivers can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should be contacted by your transporter typically within the last 24 hours before your car is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our clients as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will get there until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the vehicle carrier arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was done when the auto was picked up. The transporter will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare pre-existing dents and dings marked during your pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure everything is great and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So shipping your auto to or from Minneapolis, Minnesota can be a reasonably effortless process. We always strive to do all we can to make the entire process pleasant for every customer.

Why should I ship my car to Minneapolis, Minnesota?

Driving your car may not be the best way to transport your vehicle to another location. It puts high miles on your vehicle. Depending on the miles you will move it, there can be a lot of wear and tear — and imagine if it needs maintenance while you’re on your way.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!

Minneapolis (/ˌmɪniˈæpəlɪs/ (listen)) is the county seat of Hennepin County[6] and the larger of the Twin Cities, the 16th-largest metropolitan area in the United States.[3] As of 2017, Minneapolis is the largest city in the state of Minnesota and 45th-largest in the United States, with an estimated population of 422,331.[4] The Twin Cities metropolitan area consists of Minneapolis, its neighbor Saint Paul, and suburbs which altogether contain about 3.6 million people, and is the third-largest economic center in the Midwest.[7]

Minneapolis lies on both banks of the Mississippi River, just north of the river's confluence with the Minnesota River, and adjoins Saint Paul, the state's capital. The city is abundantly rich in water, with 13 lakes, wetlands, the Mississippi River, creeks and waterfalls; many connected by parkways in the Chain of Lakes and the Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway. It was once the world's flour milling capital and a hub for timber. The city and surrounding region is the primary business center between Chicago and Seattle. In 2011, Minneapolis proper was home to the fifth-highest number of Fortune 500 headquarters in the United States.[8][9] As an integral link to the global economy, Minneapolis is categorized as a global city.[10]
