But for specific answers regarding shipping a car to or from New York, New York, read on.

Our process to scheduling the transport of your car is streamlined. It can be summed up into three steps.

What’s the process for moving my car from New York, New York? Great question. The first step is to book your move so your dispatch team can start looking the best move for your vehicle.

They do have to take into account the size, weight, height and type of carrier you are needing, which typically are open and closed options.

We will need general information about your shipment like the VIN number, year, make and model of each auto you are shipping. This provides the information we need to properly assign your vehicle on a truck.

We will give you a free transport quote that is all-inclusive of the entire expense required to move your car from origin to delivery. Our quotes are guaranteed and will not increase for any reason unless changes are made to your car transport.

The 2nd step in the process is the pick up of your car. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your doorstep in New York, New York and deliver to the specific destination provided when you booked your transport.

The only things that we deal with when picking up from a neighborhood are local restrictions on driving a truck into the area. If there are no limitations regarding driving a big rig then we pick up from the address you gave us when you scheduled your transport.

Once your transporter arrives, you will do a walk around of the automobile with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that specifies any existing chips, damage or dings. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from New York, New York. Once it’s loaded in the carrier the driver will start the journey to the next destination.

Because a transporter delivers more than on vehicle at a time, he/she may have multiple pick ups and drop offs to make before your car reaching its final destination.

As the time nears for your car to arrive, your driver will contact you. It is difficult for a carrier to know exactly when they will arrive before they get closer to the drop off point because of the many elements that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should be contacted by your transporter typically within the last 24 hours before your car is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our customers as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will get there until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the auto transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was completed when the vehicle was picked up. The transporter will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing dents and dings identified during the pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure everything is great and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So moving your car to or from New York, New York can be a reasonably easy process. We always strive to make sure to make the entire process pleasant for every customer.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
