But for specific answers regarding transporting a vehicle to or from Norfolk, Virginia, read on.

Our steps to scheduling the delivery of your vehicle is streamlined. It can be summed up into 3 parts.

1) PRELIMINARY STEPS TO CAR SHIPPING

What’s the process for moving my car from Norfolk, Virginia? Great question. Our first step is to book your transport so your dispatch team can start searching the most ideal transport for your vehicle.

They do have to take into consideration the size, weight, height and type of transporter you are scheduling, which primarily are open and closed trucks.

We will need general information about your automobile like the VIN number, year, make and model of each car you are moving. This provides the details we need to properly assign your vehicle on a truck.

We will give you a free shipping quote that is all-inclusive of everything required to ship your automobile from origin to your destination. Our prices are guaranteed and do not increase for any reason unless you make changes to your auto transport.

2) CAR PICK UP

The second step in the process is pick up of the vehicle. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your home in Norfolk, Virginia and deliver to the final destination we were given when you booked your transport.

The most common factors that come up when picking up from a particular place are local laws on getting a transporter into the area. If there are no regulations regarding driving a big rig then we pick up from the destination you provided when you booked your transport.

Once your transporter arrives, you will do a walk around of the automobile with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that specifies any existing chips, damage or dings. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Norfolk, Virginia. Once it’s loaded in the carrier the driver will start their journey to the next destination.

Because a transporter moves more than on auto at a time, he/she may have multiple pick ups and drop offs to make prior to your car arriving at its final destination.

3) AUTO DELIVERY

As the time nears for your car to arrive, your driver will contact you. It is difficult for a transporter to know precisely when they will arrive before they get closer to the destination because of the many elements that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should hear from your driver typically within the last 24 hours before your vehicle is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our customers as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will arrive until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the vehicle transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was done when the car was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare pre-existing damage identified during your pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure everything is great and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So moving your vehicle to or from Norfolk, Virginia can be a reasonably effortless process. We always strive to do all we can to make the entire process pleasant for every customer.

Why should I ship my car to Norfolk, Virginia?

Driving your auto may not be the wisest way to transport your vehicle to another location. It puts high miles on your vehicle. Depending on the miles you will move it, there can be a lot of wear and tear — and imagine if it needs maintenance while you’re on your way.

Untimely malfunctions can cost far more what it will cost you to have a professional transporter move it for you. Not to mention, the time it adds to your trip.

That’s why we offer convenient door-to-door delivery for all our clients.

We found a great company

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
