But for specific answers regarding transporting a car to or from Oakland, California, read on.

Our steps to booking the transport of your car is very simple. It can be summed up into three parts.

1) PRELIMINARY STEPS TO CAR SHIPPING

What’s the process for moving my car from Oakland, California? Great question. The first thing is to book your move so your move team can start looking the best move for your vehicle.

They do have to consider the size, weight, height and type of carrier you are needing, which typically are open and closed carriers.

We will need basic details about your automobile like the VIN number, year, make and model of each vehicle you are shipping. This tells us the details we need to properly move your vehicle on a truck.

We will give you a free shipping quote that includes the entire expense required to move your automobile from pick up to delivery. Our quotes are guaranteed and do not increase for any reason unless you make changes to your car transport.

2) AUTO PICK UP

The second step in the process is the pick up of your auto. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your doorstep in Oakland, California and deliver to the final destination you gave us when you booked your transport.

The only things that we run into when picking up from a home are local restrictions on driving a big rig into the area. If there are no problems regarding driving a truck then we pick up from the address you gave us when you scheduled your transport.

Once your transporter arrives, you will do a inspection of the car with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that specifies any existing chips, damage or dents. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Oakland, California. Once it’s loaded in the transporter the driver will start the journey to the next destination.

Because a driver moves more than on auto at a time, he/she may have other pick ups and drop offs to make prior to your car arriving at its final destination.

3) VEHICLE DELIVERY

As the time nears for your car to arrive, your transporter will call you. It is difficult for a driver to know precisely when they will arrive before they get closer to the destination because of the many influences that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long drivers can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should be contacted by your driver typically within the last 24 hours before your car is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our customers as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will get there until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the car transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was done when the car was picked up. The transporter will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing damage marked during your pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure everything is great and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So transporting your auto to or from Oakland, California can be a reasonably effortless process. We always strive to make sure to make the entire process pleasant for every customer.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!

Oakland is the largest city and the county seat of Alameda County, California, United States. A major West Coast port city, Oakland is the largest city in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area, the third largest city overall in the San Francisco Bay Area, the eighth most populated city in California, and the 45th largest city in the United States. With a population of 425,195 as of 2017[update],[19] it serves as a trade center for the San Francisco Bay Area; its Port of Oakland is the busiest port in the San Francisco Bay, the entirety of Northern California, and the fifth busiest in the United States of America.[20] An act to incorporate the city was passed on May 4, 1852, and incorporation was later approved on March 25, 1854, which officially made Oakland a city.[4] Oakland is a charter city.[21]

Oakland's territory covers what was once a mosaic of California coastal terrace prairie, oak woodland, and north coastal scrub.[22] Its land served as a rich resource when its hillside oak and redwood timber were logged to build San Francisco.[22] Oakland's fertile flatland soils helped it become a prolific agricultural region. In the late 1860s, Oakland was selected as the western terminal of the Transcontinental Railroad.[23] Following the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, many San Francisco citizens moved to Oakland, enlarging the city's population, increasing its housing stock and improving its infrastructure. It continued to grow in the 20th century with its busy port, shipyards, and a thriving automobile manufacturing industry.
