Most of the concerns regarding transporting your automobile are identified in our car shipping blog. It is our pursuit to clearly answer every question you have about relocating your automobile no matter where it’s headed.
But for specific answers regarding moving a car to or from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, read on.
Our process to scheduling the shipment of your vehicle is simple. It can be divided into 3 steps.
1) PRELIMINARY STEPS TO CAR SHIPPING
What’s the process for transporting my car from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania? Great question. Our first step is to book your transport so your transport team can start planning the best move for your automobile.
They do have to consider the size, weight, height and type of carrier you are scheduling, which primarily are open and closed trucks.
We will need general details about your vehicle like the VIN number, year, make and model of each vehicle you are moving. This provides the information we need to properly assign your vehicle on a truck.
We will give you a free transport quote that is all-inclusive of the entire expense required to ship your car from pick up to your destination. Our prices are guaranteed and do not increase for any reason unless changes are made to your shipment.
2) VEHICLE PICK UP
The second step in the process is pick up of the car. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your location in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and deliver to the final destination we were given when you booked your move.
The only things that come up when picking up from a particular place are local restrictions on driving a truck into the neighborhood. If there are no issues regarding driving a transporter then we pick up from the location you provided when you scheduled your transport.
Once your transporter arrives, you will do a walk around of the vehicle with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that specifies any existing chips, damage or dents. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Once it’s loaded in the transporter the driver will start the journey to the next destination.
Because a driver moves more than on car at a time, he/she may have other pick ups and deliveries to make before your car reaching its final destination.
3) CAR DELIVERY
As the time nears for your auto to arrive, your carrier will contact you. It is difficult for a driver to know exactly when they will arrive before they get closer to the drop off point because of the many influences that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.
Normally, you should hear from your driver typically within the last 24 hours before your vehicle is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our customers as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will get there until just a few hours before they get to their destination.
When the vehicle transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was done when the auto was picked up. The transporter will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare pre-existing damage identified during the pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.
So moving your vehicle to or from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania can be a reasonably easy process. We always strive to make sure to make the entire experience pleasant for every customer.

Contacted Joe needed to transport my SUV from MD to ATL. Joe took my info and said he would call as soon as he dispatch a driver in several hours he contacted me said he can have my car pickup up that next day Friday and delivered on Saturday. The Driver call right away before the pickup and after. He was very quick and professional.
We found a great company
I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.
Don't make the same mistake that i did...
I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
I booked, they picked up and delivered. Everything went smooth and i have noting but good things to say about this company.
Very happy with the service!

Pickup – everything went smooth and driver did a great job!
Delivery – driver called the day before and gave me a time and he showed up as he said he would.

Philadelphia, known colloquially as Philly, is the largest city in the U.S. state and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the sixth-most populous U.S. city, with a 2018 census-estimated population of 1,584,138.Since 1854, the city has been coterminous with Philadelphia County, the most populous county in Pennsylvania and the urban core of the eighth-largest U.S. metropolitan statistical area, with over 6 million residents as of 2017[update]. Philadelphia is also the economic and cultural anchor of the greater Delaware Valley, located along the lower Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers, within the Northeast megalopolis. The Delaware Valley's population of 7.2 million ranks it as the eighth-largest combined statistical area in the United States.
William Penn, an English Quaker, founded the city in 1682 to serve as capital of the Pennsylvania Colony. Philadelphia played an instrumental role in the American Revolution as a meeting place for the Founding Fathers of the United States, who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776 at the Second Continental Congress, and the Constitution at the Philadelphia Convention of 1787. Several other key events occurred in Philadelphia during the Revolutionary War including the First Continental Congress, the preservation of the Liberty Bell, the Battle of Germantown, and the Siege of Fort Mifflin. Philadelphia remained the nation's largest city until being overtaken by New York City in 1790; the city was also one of the nation's capitals during the revolution, serving as temporary U.S. capital while Washington, D.C. was under construction. In the 19th century, Philadelphia became a major industrial center and a railroad hub. The city grew from an influx of European immigrants, most of whom came from Ireland, Italy and Germany—the three largest reported ancestry groups in the city as of 2015[update]. In the early 20th century, Philadelphia became a prime destination for African Americans during the Great Migration after the Civil War, as well as Puerto Ricans. The city's population doubled from one million to two million people between 1890 and 1950.
