But for specific answers regarding transporting a car to or from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, read on.
Our procedure to booking the delivery of your car is very simple. It can be broken down into three parts.
1) PRELIMINARY STEPS TO AUTOMOBILE SHIPPING
What’s the process for transporting my car from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania? Great question. The first thing is to schedule your move so your dispatch team can start looking the most ideal transport for your vehicle.
They do have to consider the size, weight, height and type of carrier you are needing, which primarily are open and closed trucks.
We will need basic details about your automobile like the VIN number, year, make and model of each auto you are moving. This tells us the details we need to properly move your vehicle on a truck.
We will provide you a free shipping quote that is all-inclusive of all the costs required to move your automobile from pick up to delivery. Our quotes are guaranteed and will not change for any reason unless changes are made to your car transport.
2) CAR PICK UP
The 2nd step in the process is the pick up of the auto. In almost all cases, we do pick up at your location in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and deliver to the designated destination you gave us when you booked your move.
The most common issues that come up when picking up from a home are local restrictions on getting a transporter into the area. If there are no problems regarding driving a transporter then we pick up from the destination you gave us when you booked your transport.
Once your transporter arrives, you will do a inspection of the car with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that specifies any existing chips, damage or dents. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Once it’s loaded in the carrier the driver will start the journey to the next destination.
Because a transporter delivers more than on auto at a time, he/she may have more pick ups and deliveries to make prior to your car arriving at its final destination.
3) VEHICLE DELIVERY
As the time gets closer for your auto to arrive, your carrier will contact you. It is difficult for a transporter to know exactly when they will arrive before they get closer to the destination because of the many elements that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.
Normally, you should hear from your transporter typically within the last 24 hours before your car is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our customers as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will arrive until just a few hours before they get to their destination.
When the car carrier arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was completed when the car was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing damage identified during your pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.
So transporting your auto to or from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania can be a fairly effortless process. We always strive to do all we can to make the entire process pleasant for every client.

We found a great company
I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.
Don't make the same mistake that i did...
I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
I booked, they picked up and delivered. Everything went smooth and i have noting but good things to say about this company.
Very happy with the service!

Pickup – everything went smooth and driver did a great job!
Delivery – driver called the day before and gave me a time and he showed up as he said he would.
Totally recommend this company!

Pittsburgh is known both as "the Steel City" for its more than 300 steel-related businesses and as the "City of Bridges" for its 446 bridges. The city features 30 skyscrapers, two inclined railways, a pre-revolutionary fortification and the Point State Park at the confluence of the rivers. The city developed as a vital link of the Atlantic coast and Midwest, as the mineral-rich Allegheny Mountains made the area coveted by the French and British empires, Virginians, Whiskey Rebels, and Civil War raiders.
