Most of the concerns regarding shipping your vehicle are answered in our car shipping blog. It is our mission to help you with every question you may have about shipping your automobile no matter where it’s going.

But for specific answers regarding transporting a car to or from Sacramento, California, read on.

Our process to booking the shipment of your automobile is simple. It can be summed up into 3 steps.

What’s the process for transporting my car from Sacramento, California? Great question. Our first step is to book your transport so your dispatch team can start searching the most ideal transport for your vehicle.

They do have to take into account the size, weight, height and type of truck you are requesting, which typically are open and closed trucks.

We will need general details about your car like the VIN number, year, make and model of each car you are moving. This provides the information we need to properly place your vehicle on a carrier.

We will give you a free shipping quote that is all-inclusive of all the costs required to move your car from pick up to the drop off point. Our prices are guaranteed and do not change for any reason unless changes are made to your shipment.

The second step in the process is the pick up of the car. In almost all cases, we do pick up at your doorstep in Sacramento, California and deliver to the designated destination you gave us when you booked your move.

The most common issues that we run into when picking up from a home are local laws on getting a big rig into the area. If there are no problems regarding driving a transporter then we pick up from the destination you provided when you scheduled your transport.

Once your driver arrives, you will do a inspection of the car with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that identifies any existing chips, damage or dents. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Sacramento, California. Once it’s loaded in the transporter the driver will start the journey to the next destination.

Because a carrier delivers more than on auto at a time, he/she may have other pick ups and drop offs to make before your car reaching its final destination.

As the time nears for your car to arrive, your transporter will call you. It is difficult for a transporter to know exactly when they will arrive before they get closer to the destination because of the many elements that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should be contacted by your transporter typically within the last 24 hours before your car is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our clients as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will get there until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the vehicle transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was completed when the vehicle was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare pre-existing dents and dings marked during your pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So shipping your auto to or from Sacramento, California can be a fairly effortless process. We always strive to ensure to make the entire process pleasant for every customer.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
