South Dakota Auto Transport Services

United's network of experienced drivers provide both open and enclosed car shipping services to and from the great state of South Dakota.

The most popular questions people have when looking for the best auto transport company in South Dakota most commonly about how much and how it’s done. I’m going to answer those questions now.

How Much Does It Cost to Ship My Car To or From South Dakota?

The standard price to transport a vehicle within the United States will be dependent on the type of trailer you favor enclosed or open, how far it's going, and your pick up and delivery preferences. It costs approximately $2.50 per mile to move a vehicle less than 200 miles, however costs around 75 cents a mile to ship a standard vehicle 1,000 miles or more.

Some of the factors we consider are:

• the distance the vehicle must go
• the most acceptable time to pickup and deliver your vehicle
• national cost for fuel
• availability and demand for carriers

You can get your free car shipping quote now.

Your Quote

The quote you get from us will always be inclusive of all costs required to move your vehicle. Some car transport companies will bid a low-ball price just to get your autograph on a contract only to raise the price after you’ve given a deposit, or worse, when it’s being picked up.

Our bids are all-inclusive and only change if you make alterations that increase the cost. Online quote forms can only estimate your real shipping costs so it’s always best to speak directly to the auto transport company yourself.

Open and Enclosed Transport

There are several types of shipping carriers that move our client's vehicles to and from South Dakota. We offer both open and enclosed carriers to serve the varied needs of our clients. Below you’ll find a detailed list of the benefits of each.

Open Carrier

Open vehicle transport simply means shipping your car on a carrier that doesn’t provide any enclosure to protect it from everyday environmental elements. This is how most cars are transported to dealerships. It is also the most popular means of transporter on the road and a practical way to ship your vehicle.

There are more open carriers on the road than any other type of carrier so that makes open transport the least expensive way to move your car. Plus we have more open carriers traveling through South Dakota at any given time so pickup times are often more flexible.

Enclosed Car Carriers

Moving your auto in an enclosed truck gives you the ultimate confidence. As the name suggests, enclosed auto carriers provide the greatest level of protection from weather, elements, rocks or any other possible threat.

As a bonus, enclosed auto carriers typically have more experience with expensive vehicles. The most common cars moved in an enclosed carrier are antique, collectible or classic motorcycles and cars. They also transport:

• autos from car auctions
• vintage race cars
• auto show transport
• exotic auto show transport
• antique and classic cars (like I mentioned above)

The cost of shipping a car on an enclosed truck is greater because there are less enclosed trucks on the road and they can not transport as many vehicles on their truck as an open carrier can.

Motorcycle Shipping From or To South Dakota

Motorcycle Shipping by UnitedWe do also provide motorcycle and bike shipping across the nation and internationally. We also ship ATVs and dirt bikes door-to-door to almost any destination worldwide. Typically motorcycles are transported in an enclosed truck.

So request a quote now! Our customer service team is ready to answer any questions you have and help you move your vehicle to or from South Dakota.

No Deposit Required

This ensures you are only charged the total you agreed to and no slick tricks because we stick to the quote we provide to transport your vehicle.

Contacted Joe needed to transport my SUV from MD to ATL. Joe took my info and said he would call as soon as he dispatch a driver in several hours he contacted me said he can have my car pickup up that next day Friday and delivered on Saturday. The Driver call right away before the pickup and after. He was very quick and professional.

Don't make the same mistake that i did...

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!

South Dakota (/- dəˈkoʊtə/ (listen)) is a U.S. state in the Midwestern region of the United States. It is named after the Lakota and Dakota Sioux Native American tribes, who compose a large portion of the population and historically dominated the territory. South Dakota is the seventeenth largest by area, but the fifth smallest by population and the 5th least densely populated of the 50 United States. As the southern part of the former Dakota Territory, South Dakota became a state on November 2, 1889, simultaneously with North Dakota. Pierre is the state capital and Sioux Falls, with a population of about 187,200[8], is South Dakota's largest city.

South Dakota is bordered by the states of North Dakota (to the north), Minnesota (to the east), Iowa (to the southeast), Nebraska (to the south), Wyoming (to the west), and Montana (to the northwest). The state is bisected by the Missouri River, dividing South Dakota into two geographically and socially distinct halves, known to residents as "East River" and "West River".[9]
