Most of the concerns regarding moving your car are clarified in our car shipping blog. It is our mission to clearly answer every question you have about moving your vehicle no matter where it’s going.

But for specific answers regarding shipping a vehicle to or from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, read on.

Our process to scheduling the transport of your automobile is very simple. It can be summed up into 3 parts.

What’s the process for transporting my car from Winston-Salem, North Carolina? Great question. The first step is to book your move so your dispatch team can start searching the most ideal transport for your automobile.

They do have to consider the size, weight, height and type of carrier you are scheduling, which most customarily are open and closed trucks.

We will need general information about your car like the VIN number, year, make and model of each car you are transporting. This tells us the details we need to properly move your vehicle on a transporter.

We will give you a free shipping quote that includes everything required to move your car from origin to delivery. Our quotes are guaranteed and do not change for any reason unless changes are made to your car transport.

The 2nd step in the process is the pick up of your vehicle. In almost all cases, we will pick up at your location in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and deliver to the designated destination you gave us when you booked your move.

The most common things that we run into when picking up from a residential address are local restrictions on driving a big rig into the neighborhood. If there are no regulations regarding driving a transporter then we pick up from the address you provided when you booked your transport.

Once your driver arrives, you will do a walk around of the vehicle with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that designates any existing chips, damage or dents. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Once it’s loaded in the transporter the driver will start the journey to the next destination.

Because a driver moves more than on car at a time, he/she may have multiple pick ups and drop offs to make prior to your car arriving at its final destination.

As the time nears for your auto to arrive, your driver will call you. It is difficult for a driver to know precisely when they will arrive before they get closer to the destination because of the many elements that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should be contacted by your transporter typically within the last 24 hours before your auto is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our customers as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will get there until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the vehicle transporter arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was completed when the auto was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare pre-existing dents and dings identified during your pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure the car looks good and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So moving your auto to or from Winston-Salem, North Carolina can be a fairly easy process. We always strive to ensure to make the entire experience pleasant for every client.

Why should I ship my car to Winston-Salem, North Carolina?

Relocating your auto may not be the wisest way to transport your vehicle to another city. It puts high miles on your vehicle. Depending on how far you will travel, there can be a lot of wear and tear — and imagine if it something breaks while you’re on your way.

Unforseen breakdowns can cost way beyond what it will cost you to have a professional transporter move it for you. Not to mention, the delay it adds to your trip.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!

Winston-Salem is a city in and the county seat of Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States.[5] With a 2019 estimated population of 251,907 it is the second largest municipality in the Piedmont Triad region, the fifth most populous city in North Carolina, and the eighty-ninth most populous city in the United States.[2] With a metropolitan population of 676,673 it is the fourth largest metropolitan area in North Carolina and is expected to keep that fourth spot for many more years. Winston-Salem is home to the tallest office building in the region, 100 North Main Street, formerly the Wachovia Building and now known locally as the Wells Fargo Center.

Winston-Salem is called the "Twin City" for its dual heritage and "City of the Arts and Innovation" for its dedication to fine arts and theater and technological research. "Camel City" is a reference to the city's historic involvement in the tobacco industry related to locally based R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company's Camel cigarettes. Many locals refer to the city as "Winston" in informal speech. Another nickname, "the Dash," comes from the dash in the city's name (although technically it is a hyphen[citation needed]); this nickname is used by the local minor league baseball team, the Winston-Salem Dash.
