Most of the questions regarding shipping your car are answered in our car shipping blog. It is our goal to answer every question you have about shipping your automobile no matter where it’s headed.

But for specific answers regarding shipping a automobile to or from Durham, North Carolina, read on.

Our steps to scheduling the shipment of your automobile is streamlined. It can be summed up into three parts.

What’s the process for transporting my car from Durham, North Carolina? Great question. Our first step is to schedule your move so your move team can start searching the most ideal transport for your vehicle.

They do have to take into consideration the size, weight, height and type of truck you are requesting, which primarily are open and closed carriers.

We will need general details about your car like the VIN number, year, make and model of each car you are shipping. This tells us the information we need to properly assign your vehicle on a truck.

We will provide you a free shipping quote that is all-inclusive of all the costs required to ship your automobile from origin to delivery. Our prices are guaranteed and will not fluctuate for any reason unless you make changes to your auto transport.

The second step in the process is the pick up of your car. In almost all cases, we do pick up at your location in Durham, North Carolina and deliver to the final destination provided when you booked your shipping.

The most common things that come up when picking up from a home are local regulations on driving a transporter into the area. If there are no regulations regarding driving a truck then we pick up from the location you gave us when you booked your transport.

Once your driver arrives, you will do a walk around of the vehicle with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that specifies any existing chips, damage or dings. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from Durham, North Carolina. Once it’s loaded on the transporter the driver will start their journey to the next stop.

Because a carrier moves more than on vehicle at a time, he/she may have more pick ups and deliveries to make before your car arriving at its final destination.

As the time gets closer for your vehicle to arrive, your driver will contact you. It is difficult for a driver to know precisely when they will arrive before they get closer to the drop off point because of the many variables that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long drivers can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should hear from your carrier typically within the last 24 hours before your vehicle is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our customers as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will get there until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the auto carrier arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was completed when the auto was picked up. The transporter will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare pre-existing dents and dings marked during the pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure everything is great and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So shipping your car to or from Durham, North Carolina can be a fairly effortless process. We always strive to ensure to make the entire process pleasant for every customer.

Why should I ship my car to Durham, North Carolina?

Relocating your car may not be the wisest way to transport your vehicle to another location. It puts miles on your car. Depending on the distance you will travel, there can be a lot of wear and tear — and just imagine if it something breaks down while you’re on your way.

Unplanned malfunctions can cost much more what it would have cost you to have an experienced carrier relocate it for you. Not to mention, the delay it adds to your trip.

That’s why we offer convenient door-to-door delivery for all our clients.

Whether you’re shipping your car to or from Durham, North Carolina, let us help you get it transported safely. We are your dependable vehicle transport team and we’re ready to move when you are.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
