Most of the frequently asked questions regarding shipping your vehicle are identified in our car shipping blog. It is our goal to answer every question you may have about relocating your vehicle no matter where it’s destination may be.

But for specific answers regarding transporting a car to or from St. Petersburg, Florida, read on.

Our procedure to scheduling the delivery of your car is streamlined. It can be divided into 3 parts.

What’s the process for shipping my car from St. Petersburg, Florida? Great question. The first step is to schedule your move so your move team can start searching the best move for your automobile.

They do have to take into account the size, weight, height and type of transporter you are scheduling, which most customarily are open and closed options.

We will need basic information about your car like the VIN number, year, make and model of each car you are transporting. This provides the information we need to properly move your vehicle on a truck.

We will provide you a free transport quote that is all-inclusive of the entire expense required to ship your vehicle from origin to delivery. Our quotes are guaranteed and will not increase for any reason unless you make changes to your shipment.

The 2nd step in the process is the pick up of your vehicle. In almost all cases, we do pick up at your location in St. Petersburg, Florida and deliver to the final destination you gave us when you booked your move.

The only things that we run into when picking up from a particular place are local limitations on driving a truck into the neighborhood. If there are no limitations regarding driving a big rig then we pick up from the address you provided when you scheduled your transport.

Once your transporter arrives, you will do a inspection of the car with the driver. You both will sign the Bill of Lading that designates any existing chips, damage or dings. After you receive a copy of your Bill of Lading, they will load the vehicle, secure it and prepare it for transport from St. Petersburg, Florida. Once it’s loaded on the transporter the driver will start the journey to the next destination.

Because a transporter delivers more than on auto at a time, he/she may have other pick ups and drop offs to make before your car arriving at its final destination.

As the time gets closer for your vehicle to arrive, your carrier will call you. It is difficult for a transporter to know exactly when they will arrive before they get closer to the drop off point because of the many influences that can slow their progress. This includes traffic, weather and federal guidelines regarding rest and how long transporters can actually be on the road.

Normally, you should hear from your driver typically within the last 24 hours before your auto is scheduled to arrive. Although we have made it clear to our drivers we prefer as much advance notice for our customers as possible, we do know sometimes they don’t know when they will arrive until just a few hours before they get to their destination.

When the car carrier arrives, you will repeat the same inspection that was completed when the vehicle was picked up. The driver will have a copy of the Bill of Lading for you to compare existing damage identified during the pick up inspection. You’ll look over the car again to ensure everything is great and then sign the document. The driver will give you a copy for your records.

So shipping your auto to or from St. Petersburg, Florida can be a fairly easy process. We always strive to do all we can to make the entire experience pleasant for every client.

I work for a high-end car dealer and we have been using United for some time now. Every time we shipping a car we get quotes from a few different companies, but we always seem to come back to these guys. They always have a good price and we know that they are going to do a fantastic job. Over the years we have had some minor issues, but the great thing about these guys is that they communicate well and solve the problems. I defiantly recommend these guys for shipping your vehicles.

I don’t know why i have to learn things the hard way:( I went with the cheapest company and they didn’t show up to pick up my car. I tried calling them all day long and they wouldn’t answer the phone. I had already given them a deposit and so then i had to go through the hassle of doing a chargeback. They had four-stars, so i thought i was good. I started calling around and i found joe with United Car Shipping. He was really nice and explained why the other company couldn’t get a driver to pick up my car. Joe was awesome and he got a driver to come out the next day. Everything worked out and i was very happy with this company. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars more, and it was worth it! These guys are really nice and the understand how to communicate. Thumbs up for United!
