Fisker Inc FSR said on Friday that it would start shipping its Ocean electric sports utility vehicle to North America and some European countries once it begins production in November 2022. The company said the vehicle is expected to be available by 2020. Fisker Inc is set to start producing its first vehicle – an SUV called the Ocean – in Q4 2022. Fisker Inc made waves when it went public at the end of 2020, then announced a bubbly pickup truck and RV in March 2021. Tesla calls itself the enthusiast maker of the worlds most sustainable electric car, and it is making waves with its Ocean SUV.
Fisker Inc FSR said it is showing off the Ocean SUV for the European market at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month. Fisker confirmed that production on the companys first SUV, Ocean, would begin in November 2022, partnering with Magna Steyr, an automotive contract manufacturer, with production reaching two cars per day by the first quarter next year, CEO Henrik Fisker said on the Wednesday earnings call for Q3 2019. Fisker is also in the process of setting up a Chinese entity to receive reservations from customers in the country, although it is not likely to be completed until early next year, Fisker said. While Fisker will have half a dozen Experience Centres at first, most customers will get their Fisker Ocean EV delivered to their homes.
After completing a limited number of production runs of the Fisker Ocean One, Fisker will prioritize and build all orders of the Fisker Ocean Extreme. Beginning Oct. 31, 2022, the company will offer a tentative shipping window when the Fisker Ocean Electric SUV model you prefer will be shipped. Fisker will first start reaching out to early reservers in July, once Ocean One reservations open. It will be interesting to see how many reservations holders Fisker has to reach out to solidify those first 5,000 orders.
Some customers who made reservations, however, will need to wait until September 2023 to receive them. There would have to be some sort of ordering threshold to make sense for Fisker to deliver the electric cars in some markets. Yes, Fisker Ocean will be available to ship in countries outside of the Continental U.S., including Canada, Europe, and Asia, depending on reservations numbers for each market. At the moment, Fisker does not expect to increase prices for the Fisker Ocean in 2022 or 2023, but given current rates of inflation and global market pressures in logistics and raw material costs, Fisker cannot guarantee that prices will stay flat for orders received beyond a 40,000-reservation figure, or vehicles produced starting in 2024.
I am highly confident that Fisker and Magna International Inc will provide our customers with an amazing product. Fisker must have great hands with Magna, which is an international manufacturer with plenty of resources and experience. With the longer-term agreement, Magna International Inc should be able to help Fisker push the Fiskers next-generation EV, the Ocean SUV, across the finish line, as well as assist in developing its next-generation EVs, on the FM29 platform. Fiskers next EV, the Ocean SUV, will use an electric vehicle architecture developed by Magna International Inc, modified by Fisker, creating what the two parties are calling the FM29 platform, a new IP.
His new company has also worked with Magna Internationals MGA Fisker to build the basic engineering – called a platform, in car-industry parlance – of Ocean. That platform, which was initially created by Magna International MGA Fisker, but modified by his new company to fit his specific needs, will also be used for future models from Fisker, Inc., said Henrik Fisker. Fiskers first car will be Ocean, a relatively affordable electric SUV.
Its second offering is the all-electric Five-Passenger, which will begin at only $29,900, excluding taxes and incentives. Fisker PEAR is a game-changing shift in how people think about their cars — after all, it stands for Personal Electric Automotive Revolution — we will be sharing more details about Fisker Ocean as it nears production. We will start posting additional specifications and info about Fisker PEAR later in the year.
Both Fisker and the Foxconn teams will be working together on their second car, and they are expecting to produce a minimum of 250,000 units of Fisker PEAR per year in a factory Foxconn is building, once it is ramped up. Fisker designed and engineered the companys first car with parts cut-down for fast, simplified production.
Fisker gave a bullish outlook on its electric car production ramp-up during Wednesdays third-quarter earnings call, stressing its production partnership with Foxconn, its battery supply deal with Chinese battery giant CATL, the security of Chinese battery giant CATL, and the ongoing production ramp-up for the companys first Ocean SUV. The tide is turning on electric cars, with a flurry of new models flooding the market, and Fisker Automotive is looking to take advantage of the mood with its aptly named Ocean SUV.
Delivery for Fiskers Ocean electric car is expected to begin later next year, so expect this sleek, fully-electric SUV to hit roads across the globe — and all 50 states — by late 2022. With a recent announcement, the two parties are looking to tighten up their deal, as well as provide a more concrete timeframe on when consumers may actually see deliveries of the Fiskers next Ocean electric SUV, thanks to Magna International Inc.
