We’ve heard from many customers left stranded by companies that took deposits but never showed up, causing them to lose funds they couldn’t recover. That’s why we don’t require an upfront deposit. You’ll only be charged on the day your vehicle is picked up.

If you opt for open-air vehicle transportation, you may encounter the term overloaded. Top-load transportation is a term that can have implications depending on the type of vehicle that you are shipping.

If you request a top-load transportation, and you pay a bit extra, then your car is placed on top. That is, if you are moving a vehicle with a higher value (like a luxury car or a classic), then paying a bit extra is wise, just to make sure. If you are shipping a classic car, paying an additional top-loading charge to secure the car from harmful liquids, or opting for shipping with a closed-top container, is wise.

You should consider shipping your car via enclosed transportation if you want to have complete protection and increased safety. Both open-air and enclosed vehicle transport are accomplished by moving the car via a truck. Open car transport is appropriate for any kind of vehicle, and is a better option if you are looking to move an off-the-shelf model or used vehicle.

Open transportation is the most common method for shipping a new vehicle to dealerships. Most people prefer shipping a car through open auto transportation to get the lowest rates. If you are using open car transport, then chances are that your vehicle will be shipped along with several other vehicles.

Your moving company will load multiple vehicles to deliver if using an open-air system. In open-air auto shipping, your vehicle will be shipped on a open-air transporter with up to eight other vehicles. In enclosed auto transport, the car will be shipped in an enclosed trailer, protecting the car from dirt, dust, mud, and elements from the road. With our Single Car Carrier Service, your vehicle will be loaded onto a custom-built enclosed trailer without any other vehicles.

The best way to move your luxury car or classic vehicle is with our single car carrier service. All of these benefits make this service great if you need to move your vehicle on time to a event such as a trade show, for instance. No matter where your vehicle is currently, our Open Carrier Car Transport Service can pick up your car and move it from place to place. The car carrier will take your vehicle and drop it off where you need it, saving no time with extra pick-ups along the way.

Car carriers are designed with two levels, so multiple vehicles can be transported at once. Basically, the transportation trucks have several levels, which are used to load vehicles. With open-bed trucking, vehicles are loaded on ramps onto flatbed trucks, which do not have sides or a roof. The load usually will fit well for the person moving because he or she can use the trunk and passenger seats to carry items as the vehicle itself is being transported.

Loading up the top shields the vehicle from flying debris and other potential damage. Loading a vehicle on the top keeps it off the ground and out of most flying debris. Having your car at the highest rack level allows the car to be further up from these potential flying objects and damages.

Top-loading is okay for most cars, with real damage occurring only up to 5 percent of the time in lower racks. Damage to vehicles in open-top trailers is uncommon, regardless if your vehicle is on the top or bottom deck of your trailer. Clearance issues such as this one will necessitate having your car placed on the top deck.

When requesting top loading, you are asking a driver to put your vehicle on the upper deck, or on the upper level of the trailer. A top-load means that your car will be loaded onto the upper deck of the double-decker carrier. A choice means that your car is guaranteed a position at the top of the transport carriers two-tier.

Two other terms that you will come across in the car transportation industry are -top-loader and lower-loader, or lower-loader. Some choose enclosed car transportation in order to avoid a possibility of spills from the top-loaded car onto the lower-loaded car. Vehicles in the lower trays can be more exposed to leaks of fluids and debris on the road, but they get the protection from the structure of the auto transport trailer itself, as well as from cars on the top. The biggest advantage to having your car transported in a top tray is that it is not exposed to potential fluid leaks from other vehicles.

Another advantage is that transporting vehicles with a top load will protect your car from possible fluid leaks from cars that would be parked on top of it. The main benefit of top-load car shipping is that your vehicle is further from the street, giving your vehicle maximum protection from rocks and road debris. Although it is more expensive to top-load compared to normal transportation, it is advantageous to top-load as it allows your vehicle to receive more protection.

Say that you are shipping your vehicle in an open-bed trailer, which usually has two platforms that hold four to 10 cars each; you can rest assured your vehicle is secure. Seven to 10 vehicles can fit onto the double-decker trailer and ship simultaneously, saving you money. The more vehicles that can fit onto one trailer, the lower the prices customers pay for renting such transport platforms.

Enclosed haulers and single-car carriers can be too costly in such cases. Smaller vehicles, like medium-sized cars, compact SUVs, and 2-door trucks, can actually lower carriers asking prices. Newer models can carry up to 12 vehicles on multiple levels, called pallets.

There is the Bill of Lading, Car Carrier, enclosed vs. open-air haulage, etc. For cars, there is open air, enclosed, terminal-to-terminal, and door-to-door. Unfortunately, carriers cannot keep cars safe from debris and weather conditions while using open-air vehicle transportation.
